2006 OSEA Scholarships

Apprentices were to the fore in collecting five of the scholarships on offer through the 2006 Otago Southland Employers Association.

OSEA CEO Duncan Simpson is pictured presenting scholarship certificates to Engineering Apprentice John Young and Electrical Engineering apprentice Stephen Cubitt.  The five apprentices are to use their scholarship funding to enable them to complete their respective Level 5 National Certificates.

Host company representatives attended as did staff from Southern Group Training.  Pictured with Electrical Engineer Blair Falconer is Horace McAuley from host company Blue Mountain Lumber which offered Blair employment when he completed his apprenticeship.

Also pictured is Wayne Singh from Donaldson Construction Services host company of carpentry apprentice Geoff Anderson.

Engineering South Chairperson, Michael Weusten, is pictured with John Young and Jacob van de Water both Light Fabrication Engineering apprentices hosted by Scott Sheetmetal in Gore.

The sixth scholarship recipient is Kirsty Sands, pictured with SGTT Manager Glenys McKenzie, who is putting the funding towards the completion of the National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing.
