Southern Group Training is seeking to employ a plumbing apprentice. A plumber assembles, installs and repairs the pipes, fixtures and fittings used to supply water and to remove wastes.
A plumbing apprentice is taught how to:
- replace or repair damaged pipes
- cut holes in walls for new pipes
- measure, cut and shape pipes
- install and join pipes and fittings
- test joins for leaks
- repair and maintain pipes and fixtures
- install water supply systems to bathrooms, kitchens and laundries
- install and maintain hot water and heating systems
- install and repair roofing pipes
The successful candidate will need to:
- have NCEA Level 1 and preferably Level 2
- have a restricted or full driver’s license
- pass a pre employment alcohol and other drugs test
- be genuinely interested in learning the skills of the trade
